Looking for an easier and faster way to create stunning marketing videos?
You’re not the only one: video marketing has not just grown in popularity in the past years – it’s become the best performing type of content around, especially when it comes to social media.
In fact, studies show that 91% of marketers are satisfied with their social media video marketing ROI and 93% of brands report that they got at least one new customer because of a video on social media.
So if you want to be a part of the 90%+ marketers and brands that get amazing results from video, then you need to start creating more videos, on a regular basis.
And luckily, it’s easier than ever to create beautiful marketing videos – in fact, it can take minutes to create a video (or even seconds with the right template!)
If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you might know that I’m a huge fan of Animoto – it’s probably the easiest to use video creation tool on the market right now.
And the reason why I wanted to talk to you about it again is because…
It just got even better.
Introducing the new and improved Animoto: Animoto 3.
What is Animoto?
If you’re not yet familiar with Animoto, let me present you with your new favourite content creation tool: a video maker that anyone can use to create stunning videos in just a few minutes – literally, minutes.
Here’s why I love it so much and recommend it to anyone who needs to create content quickly and efficiently:
- It’s all drag and drop so you really don’t need any experience whatsoever to use it. You just drag and drop elements in your video to make it as beautiful and as unique as you’d like
- It has a huge library of video templates, themes and animations – and it just got even bigger! They’ve just introduced vertical video to their repertoire, as well as numerous new themes, styles, media layouts and animations. You just choose a template, edit it to suit your branding and easily change themes and styles to make the video completely your own.
- Highly intuitive editing features: with the new Animoto, they’ve introduced a plethora of super useful video editing features including auto-save (basically, it means that Animoto is automatically saving your video in real time so you never have to worry about losing any changes to your videos), undo and redo buttons so that you can try out new things and easily change them back if they don’t work, flexible text placement which allows you to move the text on your videos wherever you want and many others (which I’ll get to in a bit!)
Animoto 3: How does it work?
As I mentioned just before, Animoto is a video maker which you can use to create marketing and social media videos.
Once you create your account – and by the way, they have a free forever account option, too! – you can start creating videos immediately.
You can start from scratch with a completely blank template but better yet, you can use one of their numerous templates for pretty much any occasion you can think of:
They’re all ordered in categories so that you can easily browse through and find something that suits your needs. And plus, they’ve recently introduced vertical video templates too, which you can use for Stories, Reels, TikTok and other similar popular social media platforms.
I particularly love their template library because it can also be a great source of inspiration when you’re not sure what other videos to create; simply check out the different categories or head over to the New templates and look underneath the video templates to see how each one can help you engage your audience:
If you like a template, you can click on it to view the video in full, get more information about it and about how to use it, as well as see where you can share it and what niches it’s great for:
Next, you can upload any photos or videos you want to use to customize the template; or, if you don’t have any but still want to change it, you can find plenty of stock videos and images from their built-in Getty Images stock library:
Or, to make things even easier on you, simply use the images and/or videos already included in the template.
And that brings us to the best part – the video editor:
With the new and improved, super easy-to-use video editor, you now have more options and features than ever to fully customize your video and make the process as easy and as quick as possible.
To start with, you can easily change the media used in your video by dragging and dropping yours over the video template – either your own media or something from their stock library, which you can find on the right-hand side of the editor. Or, as I mentioned earlier, you can also use the media that’s already included with the template and get your video ready to publish in a few minutes.
You can also add and save media that you like in the Favourites section so that you can easily access it whenever you need it.
One of the really cool new features they introduced with the new Animoto is that you can quickly change the layout of your video with one click; just click on the Layout icon to see your options and change to a new one:
Under the Layout button, you can also find the Colour button which allows you to change the background colour of your video (it’s also worth noting that you can also add your brand colour here to stay consistent):
To further edit your video, all you need to do is click on the element you want to change or edit; for example, if you need to make changes to the text, click on the section you want to edit, change the wording and change the text size and colours used:
As you can see, it’s incredibly easy and most of all, very intuitive as this is how it works with all the elements in your video: you click on it, you see the editing options you have and with a click or two, you can make the changes you want.
Then, to edit another block from your video, simply click on the block you want to edit, at the bottom of the editor:
You can also remove blocks, duplicate them or easily add new blank ones using the + button at the bottom of your screen.
And, as I mentioned in the beginning, this new Animoto will automatically save your video in real time, as well as allow you to easily undo and redo actions so that you can try different edits and design elements.
Other editing and design features are located in the Design section; here, you can easily make changes that apply to your entire project, as I’ll show you in a bit.
Also in the Design section, they’ve just added 27 new beautiful video themes that you can try out for your video (and if you don’t like it, just hit the undo button and try another one!)
Once you click on one of the themes, it takes Animoto literally a couple of seconds to apply the changes.
Next, you can make even more design changes to your text from the Text Settings section:
Change the text sizes from here, add a new font and best yet, change the text style.
These are all-new text animations that you can preview by hovering your mouse clicker over them.
To apply a new text animation to your video, just click on it and Animoto will automatically generate a preview of what your video looks like.
Also in the design settings, you can also find more video editing options; most notably, all the new video styles (which are essentially transitions and video treatments for your images and video clips) and exciting filters that you can apply to your video with one click:
To see what the video transitions look like, hover over the respective icon and you’ll immediately see a preview.
And last but not least when it comes to editing your video, you can add your logo to the corner of your video to stay consistent with your branding.
Once your video is ready to go, you can also add music – either your own music or something from their extensive library which you can access by clicking on the Music button:
And lastly, you can now change the aspect ratio with a couple of clicks and easily create the same video for multiple platforms:
And best of all, you can now do vertical video too!
And that’s it – your video is ready to go. Just click on the export button to download your video, share it out on your social media channels or generate a link to direct people to your video’s page:
Conclusion: the easiest way to create marketing videos?
Definitely – Animoto was great before, but with Animoto 3, it’s bigger and better than ever.
I’ve loved exploring the new editing features and creating new and exciting videos.
