How to Make Your Website More Credible

How to Make Your Website More Credible

Having a solid website for your business can be what makes or breaks your company. Although having a website that looks suave and sophisticated helps, this is just half the battle with your online site. This hub is one that will define your business, shape first impressions and has the potential to reel in potential clients. So, you’ll want to make your website as credible as possible. There’s nothing more off-putting than a businesses website, or blog, that reeks of something-not-quite-right.

How do you assert your credibility? Here’s some pointers.

Be Careful with Your Ads

Seeing inappropriate, rude or invasive ads does not come across as professional to visitors to your site. Ads are good for revenue, yes, but be selective about the ones you choose. We’ve all been on a site with dodgy-looking ads, and it’s not attractive. If you think your site can manage without ads, scrap them altogether. This makes the site more personal, and less… spam-esque.

Build Strong Back Links

Link building is great for SEO as well as signaling to a search engine that your site is one that’s trusted. The best way to build links to your site is to get a variety of different blogs and businesses to include links on their websites that lead back to yours.

This can be a bit of a difficult and confusing strategy for some unfamiliar with SEO and other marketing concepts. SEO Jet specializes in helping your site with anchor texts and link building.

Display Accreditation and Testimonials

A good way to show potential customers, clients and readers that they can trust you is to add some genuine testimonials to your site. These fit in well at the bottom of the home page, or on a page entirely dedicated to them. A business will always toot their own horn. Visitors want to hear what other clients have to say about your company.

You can also show any five-star ratings you’ve acquired. Excellence certificates or accreditation received from business trust-building organizations such as the Better Business Bureau are some examples.

Use a Trust Seal

If your site has absolutely anything to do with sensitive information, such as handling payments, then you’ll want to include a trust seal. This shows the validation of your site from a third party. These seals should be on clear display to let visitors to your website know they are safe when doing business with you.

Put a Face to the Page

This adds a personal, human touch. People who come across your website will be able to put a face to the business and get a feel for the kind of people they’re dealing with. A site that isn’t trustworthy most likely won’t put a face to the business as they don’t want it to get traced to anyone.

If your company sets up employees to meet clients, this may make them feel more at ease, too. This is so they will know who they’re dealing with and who to look out for when approaching a meeting.

Make Contact Details Clear

The logic behind this is similar to why you might want to put a face on your site. If potential clients know that you have a storefront, they will feel feel like you’re more legitimate. If it is clear you have a building address that’s not made up, they will know you are an established business.

A phone number can go a long way, too. Customers will know there’s a contact number to call if anything goes wrong, or if they have any initial queries about the business.

Final Thoughts

It is vital that you put work into creating a site that is user-friendly and can attract potential customers. Make sure you or whoever you hire has a clear idea of how your site should function and look. Most of all, make sure you know how SEO works. Start on the right foot and the rest shall follow.
