SaaS SEO Consultant: Rank on Google and Get Recommended by AI
A SaaS SEO consultant helps a software company get found when buyers search for a tool to do a job, and named when they ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI which tool to pick. For SaaS, the pages that win are product-led: features, use cases, integrations and honest comparisons. I'm Lilach Bullock, and I build search and AI visibility plans around those pages.

The pages that win SaaS search
Most SaaS sites have a homepage, a features page and a blog. Buyers search in far more specific ways than that. These are the page types I look at first.
Use-case pages
One page per job your product does, written in the words buyers use for that job. These match searches like "software to track client hours" far better than a general features list.
Feature pages
A page for each feature that people search for by name, with a straight answer about what it does, who it's for and what it replaces.
Integration pages
"Does it work with the tools I already use?" is one of the last questions before a trial. A page for each major integration answers it and ranks for the tool-name searches.
Comparison and alternatives pages
Buyers who search "alternative to" a big name are close to switching. Fair, specific comparisons win those searches, and AI assistants quote them when asked to compare tools.
Docs and help centre
Your help content often ranks for the most specific questions. Making it crawlable, well structured and linked back to product pages turns support pages into acquisition pages.
Why AI recommendations matter more for SaaS
"What's the best tool for this?" is exactly the kind of question people now ask an AI assistant. The answer is a short list of named products, usually drawn from roundups, review sites, community threads and comparison pages. If your product isn't in those sources, it isn't in the answer, however well your homepage ranks.
So the AI side of SaaS SEO is mostly about the wider web: being listed, reviewed and discussed in the places the assistants read, with the same clear facts about your product everywhere.
How an engagement runs
- Baseline. Rankings and sign-ups from search, and which tools AI assistants name for your category today.
- Page-type gap map. Which use-case, feature, integration and comparison pages you need, ranked by how close each search is to a trial.
- Technical fixes. Indexing, JavaScript rendering, site structure and structured data, as a prioritised list for your developers.
- Build the priority pages. Written by me or briefed to your team and reviewed.
- Earn mentions. Get the product onto the roundups, reviews and publications AI engines cite for your category.
- Report monthly. Sign-ups and trials from search, rankings and AI mentions side by side.
SaaS SEO and GEO for SaaS
SEO gets your pages ranked. Generative engine optimization (GEO) gets your product named in AI answers. They share the same foundations and I run them as one plan. If the AI side is your main concern, my guide to GEO for SaaS companies goes deeper, and my B2B SEO consultant page covers longer, sales-led buying cycles.
Frequently asked questions
What is SEO for SaaS?
SEO for SaaS is search work for software companies. It covers the classic technical and content side, but the pages that matter most are product-led: feature, use-case, integration and comparison pages that match how buyers search for a tool to do a job. In 2026 it also means getting your product named when buyers ask an AI assistant which tool to use.
How much does it cost to hire a SaaS SEO consultant?
It depends on the size of your site, how many page types need building and how much your team writes in house. I scope it after a short conversation and give you a clear quote before anything starts.
What is the 80/20 rule in SaaS SEO?
A handful of page types usually drives most of the sign-ups from search, often comparison, integration and use-case pages. Build and improve those first before spending months on top-of-funnel blog posts that bring traffic but few trials.
How long does SaaS SEO take?
Fixes to existing product pages can show results within weeks. New comparison and use-case pages typically take three to six months to rank in competitive categories. AI mentions can move faster, because assistants search the live web and pick up new pages and reviews.
Do you write the content or does my team?
Either. I can write the priority pages myself, or brief your team and review what they produce. Most software companies keep their product marketers close to the copy and use me for the strategy, structure and the pages that need search experience.
